Makes My Heart Beat Faster!!!

Hello Dear Ones!  Yes, I will be posting and writing more often.  Just very busy taking care of my RoseFlower right now.  Holidays are always difficult for her.  I am praying for y'all...yes, even though I don't know you!

Wanted to share this great video I ran across just now on You Tube.  I've never heard the song before, it is called "Colorful Revolution"-by the Redwalls.  The video is just amazing!  I go ga-ga (no relation to Lady) over any kind of art supplies...so this video is just too exciting for me!  If we don't get to do some art tomorrow, I will explode!

Hope y'all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  You know, no matter what is going on...there are always things to praise God about!  He is so wonderful!!

Enjoy this video....  MamaRose

Me Against the World Today...

My Sweet RoseFlower loves the movie Freaky Friday.  The Disney movie with Lindsay Lohan and Jaime Lee Curtis.  I like it myself, it is a fun watch with a great soundtrack.  This song has been going thru my head for the past few days.  Being Christian (thank you, Lord, for choosing me!!!  I am so unworthy!), we are never actually in the position of the person singing this song.  It sure feels this way sometimes.  And I love the 80's punk pop girl band sound, too!  You just can't beat it!  Enjoy.....

Beautiful by Mercy Me

May God Bless you with this song!  RoseFlower and I first heard it on Friday-just a couple of days ago.  I'm finally sitting down and taking a couple of minutes while she is resting to find the title and lyrics, etc.  I must share it with y'all!  It speaks to your soul...I still cry every single time I hear it.  Good tears, though.    Please know that these words are true for YOU, yeah you sitting right there..reading this right now, thinking I'm a loon because I pray for you and I don't even know you.  :)
Be Blessed!

Two Steps Forward...and Recipes!

Hello Dear Ones!  Do you ever have those days...where you feel like it is two steps forward and at least three steps back??  But you really know that you are actually going forward the whole time??  Well, okay..maybe you don't really know that you are going forward, you are just trusting in God's plan--doing your very best to keep your eyes on Him and His Glory, and avoid all the noise and chaos that is around you, trying to distract you from your Beloved Saviour and His instructions for you.

Okay, so I was looking back over previous blogs, and I don't think that I ever shared Cousin P's special spaghetti recipe with you.  Since tomorrow is his birthday, it is appropriate that I go ahead and share it with you today!

Cousin P's Special Spaghetti

1 - 1 1/2 lbs. lean ground meat
1/2 - 3/4 lbs. hot (spicy) Jimmy Dean (or whichever brand you prefer) breakfast sausage
1 can Hunt's garlic and herb spaghetti sauce
1 can stewed tomatoes italian style (ok--this is my addition to the recipe)
Italian seasoning to taste
1/3 - 1/2 chopped onion OR minced onion to taste
garlic powder to taste
spaghetti--I never measure, I just put in how much looks right for our family

First in a frying pan (with a bit of olive oil, if you wish), cook the ground meat and the spicy sausage thoroughly-mixing them together and into bite sized bits.  If you are choosing the fresh onion, then definitely put it in with the meat.  It smells delish!  This is what my cousin always uses, but sometimes you don't always have an onion on hand, you know?  Go ahead and put the spaghetti water on to boil.  This is a pretty fast recipe (love those!), and if you like your pasta al dente (it is better for you that way, by the way)..then you will be closer to having everything finished all at once (love it when that happens, too!).  After meat is done--no pink inside (you don't want any monsters living inside you--like that show on the animal planet), then add the rest of your ingredients right to the frying pan.  Instead of a frying pan, my cousin uses a 4 quart saucepan--so that would work as well.

Drain the pasta when it is done.  Keep it in a separate pot.  Don't mix together--like I sometimes mix together my other sauces with rice or pasta.  This is just extra good if you keep them separate.

Okay, now at your store, in freezer section, look for the STORE BRAND garlic toasts.  They will come 8 to a box.  (definitely not if you are trying to diet-this is a wonderful delight splurge...delish!)  He always uses the store brand on these, I have never tried any other brands, they are cheaper....  anyway.  Now he just stops with his meal here.  Meat and bread for guys, right??  ;)  I love him--it is super delicious like this!  I like to add a salad when I make it at home.  That's it!

Ok....now for another recipe.  This is a funny recipe that I made up after seeing something in a magazine that got me to thinking...(be careful when that happen's, right??).  My sweet RoseFlower was just diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes.  My sweet KingBee daddy has Type 2 Diabetes, as well.  Now he is fine with the fake sweeteners like NutraSweet and all of those, but they make my RoseFlower throwup and have a headache.  And of course, RoseFlower thinks she is going to die if she doesn't have something sweet!  (And fruit doesn't count for her--no way!!)  Ok..you are saying "Shut Up already and get to the dang recipe!!".  Ok...here it is.

Fairy Pies

store bought pie crust (I use the WalMart generic brand that comes 2 uncooked crusts to a box-by the bisquits in a can in refrig section)
fresh fruit or berries
all fruit preserves (I use the Smucker's brand-only have Strawberry now, I'm going to look for other flavors though)

get out one of the pie crusts.  unroll it onto some wax paper on your counter or table --- your kiddos might even want to help you make this one!  now cut your pie crust so that the circle turns into a square---but the edges that you cut off need to be big enough so that they can be doubled upon themselves with a bit of filling inside.

preheat oven to 425 farenheit.   spray cookie sheet with butter flavored pam---definitely do this unles you have a non stick  sheet, you still may want to spray even then--the filling will leak out and be hard to get off.

I experimented on different fruits just to see what worked best.  I only had the strawberry flavor of the all fruit, but it worked out great anyway.

so you cut up your berries into quarters (I used blackberries, raspberries, and strawberries).  It worked out to 1 blackberry and 1 raspberry in 1 fairy pie.  OR 1 strawberry in 1 fairy pie.  I would smooth about 1/4 a spoonful of the strawberry all fruit preserves on the pie crust in the middle, the put the cut up pieces of berries, then fold the side up around--no particular pattern--then poke holes in top of each pie with end of fork that I cut up the berries with.  I also tried tiny bits of a pear with some spray "I can't believe it's not butter" spritzed on the fruit instead of the preserves.  I got 8 little fairy pies from one pie crust.  Just the right amount for a dessert after dinner for a family of 4..and they were definitely NOT overly sweet...in fact they were on the light side of sweet..but not bitter...just right.  Oh yes...I baked them (covered with a bit of aluminum foil for part of the time so they wouldn't get too brown) for about 20 minutes.  But your oven might be different.

Ok...so the results!!!!!
RoseFlower's Top Pick was strawberry with the strawberry preserves
she didn't like the raspberry/blackberry with strawberry preserves because of the little dotties on the berries--
she didn't try the pear--it was good, but a bit dry, needed something else (maybe apple all fruit next time)  but the baked pear was really good!  I can't wait to try some other fruits--already thinking about apple and adding a touch of cinnamon!
KingBee very much liked the raspberry/blackberry
QueenBee and MamaRose liked them all.  So I will definitely be making those again soon.

I was thinking, those little fairy pies, you could add anything you wanted inside of them, you know??  A bit of ham and cheese, cream cheese and chives, ...possibilities are endless!

And these would make a great tea party treat!  We like to have tea parties with little snacks and drinks (homemake pink lemonade) and have read alouds.  Especially on rainy afternoons like today!!  And of course, RosePig, our guinea pig, is always included with her own snacks!

Have a blessed weekend and know that I am praying for you!

Once more with feeling.....

So I'm holding my breath over here!!  It looks like this time more pictures actually truly made it to where they were supposed to!  Hooray!!!

Okay....  now...  I have used lots of images from lots of wonderful people!  Art Chix paper dolls and collage sheets, various scrapbook papers from Michael's and Hobby Lobby and who knows where else, images from Teesha Moore collage sheets and borders, pics cut out from various magazines dating back probly 5 years, images from the free/royalty free images online.....so many places, I'm sure that I am forgetting some.  Oh yes, and people put together from circulars that come in the Sunday paper adverts from department stores advertising clothes, jewelry, etc.

I will post more soon, now that I think I've figured out the magic answer!!  (hint:  you have to hold your mouth a certain way, stand on your left foot, and hum a certain Beatles song backwards.....)

Love and hugs all around,
MamaRose

More Journal Pages....

Trying this again!!  Hopefully I will be able to post more than two pics this time!

Ok...so sorry for the confusion on my part.  Still learning over here to blog!  Thank you for your patience!  I will take more pics of other artwork and post more!

Israel and Art

Hello Dear Friends!  I want to share some of my artwork with you.  Also, I want to direct you to an interview with a really special man named Israel Houghton.  Some of you may have heard of him.  He is a wonderful Christian recording artist.  I had the pleasure and honor of taking care of him and his precious family while working in a job that I had a few years back.  After being in their home and getting to know them just a little bit, I can tell you that they are the "real deal" and very Godly people.  Just a precious family!!  So here is the interview with Israel    http://www.cbn.com/cbnmusic/Interviews/700club_IsraelHoughton_041205.aspx

Now let's see if I can insert some pics of my artwork!  I took the pics awhile back on RoseFlower's computercam (I'm sure there is another name for it).  They are not the best pics, but I want to share them...because so many of the blogs I really enjoy have such beautiful pictures of their work.  I just want to let you know that I actually do play in my art journal too!  :)

What a day for a daydream! Hard to see details...sorry

the front of one of my art journals

Okay... so this will only let me post 2 pictures in this post.  And in reverse order.  I'm so confused!  yes, that is me hiding behind my journal!  just trying to stay incognito.  I took these pics a couple of weeks ago, in my bedroom.  Behind me is my wall with some of my pretty lights that make me happy, and you can see the window behind me as well-it is dark outside.

More art posting soon....

It's a God Thang!!!

Happy New Week!  I hope that everyone is able to see the blessings around you...even if times are really hard right now... you are breathing, that is a blessing!  Praise Him for it!!  I'm praising Him that you are breathing!  hee hee--I know you must think I'm off my rocker by now.  Yes, a bit..but mostly just sleep deprived I think!

Ok...so here is the scoop!  I have had this song going thru my head all day today, right???  "Oh how He loves you..." --I believe the real name of it is the Saviours Love Song...that is a HUGE maybe.  And I don't know who really sings it.  Just love that song!  Anyway...so I've been making some changes here and there on my blog...and I'm still not quite sure exactly when this happened, but now the name of my blog is showing up as "oh how He loves you....." !!!!  Coeenkeedeenk???  I think not.  Most people don't know that la femme de Dieu means "woman of God".... but "oh how He loves you....."  that just goes right out there and just says exactly what I want everybody reading any part of my blog to know!!  Don't you love it????  God is just so incredible!!  He amazes me more and more each day!!

Thank you precious Lord for changing the name of my blog to Your preference!!!  I love it!!  Can't wait to share this story with others tomorrow when they are awake!!  Just another "God thang", you know!

Hugs and kisses all around......have to be at an appointment (showered and shampooed and fed and watered and walked) in a mere 7 hours.  Takes almost 45 minutes to get there without traffic or construction.  And I really must sleep and eat sometime in there.  (I know, such bad habits I've picked up-sleeping and eating.  I really could get so much more done if I didn't have to do either of those!

Please pray for RoseFlower.  She is processing so much right now.  It is part of the healing process..you have to go straight thru it.  It can't be skipped or brushed away or lightly treaded on.  Like my mom says that sometimes you just have to put on your army boots and go in and take care of business.  RoseFlower is having to do just that.  Many more memories are surfacing that are everso painful and ugly and hideous.  But the stinky toads are finally coming out!  Praise the Lord!!!  So more true deep healing can take place...where it wasn't possible before.  She just wasn't ready yet.  The devil is prowling around our house....he is not happy that she is beginning to heal more.  He is very much trying to stir the pot up around here..any and every way he can.  Please pray for my parents and my daughter and myself.  God is so incredible and in control!!  He can move mountains!!  He has already shown us that!!!

Thank you so very much!  And I am still praying for you....even though I don't know you....and nobody is even reading this yet....  I know that one day somebody will.  And that is who I am praying for!!!  You!  God knows your name, the number of hairs you have on your head..your thoughts, your habits....  and He loves you so much!!!!  Please remember that no matter what has happened in your life, what is going on right now, whatever you may have done...anything.....  He loves you.

ok....seriously must sleep now.
hugs and kisses all around again....

Art and Soul

Yes, I've been very busy taking care of my precious RoseFlower.  She got home from the hospital on July 12.  God is so wonderful!  He is working mightily in her life (in all of our lives) right now.  Praise His Holy Name!!  Amen!!

We are going thru the white waters of more healing, once again.  My precious RoseFlower has a new therapist that is fabulous.  God placed RoseFlower directly in her new therapist's lap.  I am sure of that.  New therapist has over 30 years experience working in exactly what RoseFlower needs help with right now!  Isn't God just AMAZING???!!!!?!?!?!?!

So we have been working on art as much as possible.  The colors, patterns, textures, designs.... these can all express so many things where words fail.  Then when you add Bible verses to your artwork...well now, that just sweetens the cupcake even more, now doesn't it???  Hopefully soon, I will be able to post some of our work.  Not that our work is anything spectacular or fancy....it is heartfelt and healing to our souls..if it could possibly maybe touch one other person... that would be wonderful.  Just sharing God's love.

Must get some sleep.  Please know I am still praying for you.  Yeah, I know....even though I don't know you!

Praise Jesus!!!

Praise Jesus' Holy Name!!  My sweet RoseFlower is doing better today!  Just got home from seeing her.  She got to go to bed early last night!  She was warm (thanks to my precious earthly daddy (KingBee) running home yesterday during visiting time and bringing her the blanket from her own bed), and the little girl in the room with her wasn't purging all night (please pray for her, too), and the staff was quiet last night (instead of talking aboutvampires and the new movie in that vampire werewolf saga that is so popular--can't believe I can't remember the name of it!  The little boy that played Shark Boy in the wonderful movie, "Shark Boy and Lava Girl", is all grown up to a teenager now and plays the werewolf in it...I'm sure you know this huge movie..you know you are supposed to pick team whoever or team other whoever guy....)--or at least RoseFlower didn't hear them!!

She was in really good spirits today.  Very sleepy.  The meds schedule there is different from what she is used to at home, but I talked with a nurse and I think things should be better for my girl.  They had all sorts of goodies for the kids for the 4th!  Ice cream sundaes, cheesecake, ice cream bars.... she was happy about that.  Sweets are a treat for us here at home!  And she got to watch the new "Alice in Wonderland", with beloved Johnny Depp!  And some other movies.

I'm so happy that she is there.  I know that she will get the care that she needs-- intensive therapy-group, individual, then classes on stress management, social skills, coping skills,-- I could use some of the classes listed on this schedule here myself!!  Especially stress management!  Whew!!  If I could only do art all the time...that would just fix everything!  8)  But, alas...  my family needs to eat, they want clean clothes, they really enjoy having a house that is clean and free of debris (books, shoes, journals, markers, library books, library videos--usually the really cool National Geographic ones about the ocean or another country or animals in Africa or something!..the debris is exciting and wonderful...but it is a bit aggravating when it is everywhere-but if they were to be working on art all the time, too-would they notice??  I bet not!  ;)  ) lying about (in the form of various and sundry items that are usually piled up again within 15 minutes of putting them away!  how does that happen anyway???)....  these are very demanding people that I live with you see.  So I'm still trying to figure out a way to make my 29-30 hour a day art plan work!  If you have any ideas...please let me know!  I would be everso grateful!

Have a blessed day and be strengthened because, “I have set the Lord always before me, because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” Psalm 16:8

God is so GOOD!  Praise His Mighty and Wonderful Name!!

I don't know where this hospitalization will lead in terms of the criminal case that the authorities would never follow through on....but I am resting in My God's arms, trusting that He is in control of everything....and more importantly, that He will take care of everything....every detail...He knows the number of hairs on your head and mine!  He cares about us that much!!  So of course He will take care of all of your burdens and mine.

I know that I am very vague in many details.  It is because the earthly authorities did not and are not doing their jobs correctly...well let me rephrase that.  My Precious Lord is working on another timetable.   At first, I am ashamed to admit that this crushed my spirit...I am so ashamed that I let my lack of faith, my flesh wanting to take over everything and just take care of it... consume me.

And yes, I still have times (when I hear of others being sent to prison or given the death penalty while I know that there is a very dangerous person that is walking free that committed much worse crimes than the person I just heard about on tv), when I will slip back a bit and get angry.  I will again want to be Angelina Jolie from Tomb Raiders and just take the law into my own hands.  But I know that is not what my Lord wants me to do.  I confess my slip and my wrong thoughts to my Precious Saviour...and guess what???   He is there..was always there...with open arms..just waiting for me to get over my little temper tantrum.

And you know what...it doesn't matter what you may have done in your life...or what you may not have done in your life.....you can find a character in the Bible to compare with your circumstances.  And then do you know what???  When you come to our Precious Lord Jesus Christ's throne....He will love you anyway!  This is not to say that you still may have to deal with the natural consequences of your choices....but God can turn your life around and use every single horrible mistake you have ever made--and turn it around for His Glory and His Good to further His Kingdom!!  And when He does that....do you know what happens to you??  If you give your life to Him...  you will truly become a new creature.

The closer you draw yourself to Jesus...the closer He will draw HImself to you.  And the old things that you used to do...maybe you drank too much (that was me in college), or weren't as sexually pure as maybe you could have been (check that box for me, too), and remember in Matthew 5:27-28--- You have heard that it was said, "You shall not commit adultery", but I say to you, that everyone who looks on a woman to lust for her has committed adulter with her already in his heart. -- Wow, that is pretty heavy duty stuff that Jesus was saying there, wasn't it?!  In that same chapter of Matthew (5), just a few verses up (21-22), Jesus talks about the connection between unrighteous anger and murder...wow.  Now that doesn't mean you can't ever be angry---remember even Jesus got angry in the temple (His Father's house) when the vendors were selling their wares--he even turned their tables over!  That is pretty angry!  That story is Matthew 21:11-13, by the way.  But Jesus' anger was righteous anger.  He was defending His Father's House.

How do you tell the difference between the 2 kinds of anger???  Here is a fabulous article that really helped me with that  http://www.rbc.org/questionsDetail.aspx?id=46120&Topic=610  .

Okay....sorry about the bunny trail there!  But those old things that you used to do...when you are in God's word, staying close to Him....now this is a really cool secret that you don't hear just anywhere ;)......  you will not want to do those things as much anymore.  Not that you won't be tempted, but if you pray for God to give you strength..He will!

I have no idea why I am writing all of this tonight.  Just know that it is true.

Much love and many hugs to you all...

Isaiah 41:10
Do not fear, for I am with you;
Do not anxiously look about you,
for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, surely I
will help you,
Surely I will uphold you with My
righteous right hand.

Happy July....!!

Hello and Happy July to everyone!  Not sure where you are, but here...it is very very hot outside!  Whew!  My mom (QueenBee) always says she is solar powered- hee hee hee!- but even she is saying it is hot, so you know it is really, really hot here!!!  And our hottest months aren't even here yet!!

Yes, there has been a blank spot in my postings.  We've been riding the rapids here since I last wrote.  I had to put my precious RoseFlower in the hospital last night.  I know that she is where she needs to be...that our Precious Saviour is in control of everything, and taking care of His baby....

She has been regressing for about 5 months now.  Some small things at first, then some bigger backwards steps.  There was a huge event night before last where she actually said that she wanted to go to hospital.  I trust her doctor completely...with her life, as he literally saved her life about 4 years ago.  He agreed that she needed to go to hospital.

Not sure if her meds need tweaking, or if she just needs some intensive therapy, I know that she will get either or both...whatever she needs.  Would you please pray for her??  During visiting time today, she was crying so hard...begging me to take her home.  She was very scared because now she is in the teen unit (previously-she was in the children's unit, that was 4 years ago).  She was so scared because the other patients were talking about how they had overdosed, how many drugs they had taken....they were cursing alot...  my RoseFlower is getting a look at the real world and it's harshness.

She is such a tender, loving, giving soul.  She always has been.  Even though she is 15, because of her traumas, emotionally she is much younger.  And because of the recent regressions... she seems very young emotionally at times--still loving teddy bears, little animal toys, make believe stories...  So this culture shock for her is very difficult.

And she is having visual and audio hallucinations.  They are very scary to her.  She knows that they are not real...but it doesn't make it any easier to hear the words, hear the demons and what they tell her to do....and to see the scary demon-like images that are surrounding her.

Thank you so very much for your prayers.  I know that our God is a loving God...I know that nothing happens without Him knowing about it...and I know that all works together for good for those that love Him.  And she definitely loves her Jesus.  She could only bring in one book and a journal.  She packed a whole bag full, but without hesitation, picked her Bible and very willingly left the rest.

Ok...on to other things....we have been creating loads of artwork lately!  It is so wonderful for the soul!  RoseFlower was going to show me how to take pics on the digital cam and then how to post them on the blog.  I may just try and figure another way to post our work.  We have been having alot of fun.  The colors are just gorgeous!!!

God is so amazing to give us all of these beautiful things (trees, clouds, flowers, different textures, paints, sparkles....it is endless!!)...and give us minds to create and imagine and play with!  God is just such a loving and amazing God!  I cannot fathom His love for us....every time I try, I am just speechless...  He sings over us at night if we ask Him to, He keeps us safe from our enemies, He answers our prayers---that are so much better many times that what we ask for!!!, He holds us and comforts us if we become scared or cry, He forgives us when we mess up...no matter how bad we mess up-He is waiting for us with open arms to love on us and forgive us.  I could just go on and on!!  Just Praise His Holy Name!!

The past few months, I didn't have any words to write here.  I couldn't get them to form coherently, or I was too exhausted and would just fall into bed...talking to my Lord until I fell asleep.  At times, I only had a very short period of time to get on my computer.  I would go to flickr.com .  Anything you can imagine...so many beautiful images are on http://www.flickr.com/ .  If you are having a rough go of it...  it is wonderful just to go and enter one of your favorite things to search...and it is amazing how many gorgeous pictures you will find of your favorite thing!  It is free to open an accout, just takes about a minute, then you can click to make pics your favorites, so you can go back and enjoy them later.  Just a really cool place to go and hang out...when you are too stressed to read words, or think, or type words.  Somehow the beauty of the colors breaks through that stress...and you can relax, and then hopefully sleep better.

Please know that I am praying for everyone that reads anypart of this.  And if you have a specific prayer request, please email me at the address to whichever side it is...maybe the right side??

May God be with you and your families and bless you abundantly!  If you celebrate the Fourth of July (in America), I hope you have a wonderful and fun 4th!!

Much love.....MamaRose

Do You Ever....

Do you ever feel this way???  I found this poem that I had written last year.  I was wondering where it was just a couple of days ago.  Funny, isn't it, how things appear or reappear just as you need them??  So I'm going to share it with you.  It doesn't really have a title.  It just sort of bubbled out of me one day while waiting in the pediatrician's waiting room with RoseFlower.  I couldn't stop writing until it was finished!  Ha ha!  Good thing our pedi was running a bit behind that day, huh?

Nerves are raw - jangling, clangling -

So tired of disobedience, defiance, delays-
Lord help me control my temper, my tone, give me peace -
I just want to run to
Your quiet peaceful arms to rest and to play.

My head aches, my heart races, my chest hurts - I just want to cry.
The plans I make disappear like wisps of smoke in the sky.

Over and over again -
Will there ever be an end?
Is it possible to actually accomplish plans made?
Or will I always be forced just to be tied and simply watch my days fade?

Feeling time slipping away, life passing me by -
Again, I just want to lay down and cry.

I'm tired of being stuck at the station -
I want to get on that fast racing train!
Where does it lead? Am I really too scared?
Do I think it will lead to only more pain?

Future is uncertainty -
but with God there is calm.
Clinging to Him is like
covering yourself with a balm.

Are circumstances holding me back -
or am I really to blame?
Trying to figure it all our fills me with
such shame.

Ashamed underneath because inside
I really know
That I am the only one who can dig myself
out of the snow.

Oh yes - God will help!
I know that is true -
So why oh why am I still feeling so blue?

Is the task too big?
No, not with the help of my Lord.

I just need to blindly have faith -
Take the first step then more.
After that first ..another step, step, step, step.
Keep on ...keep on... even if I get sore.

I've been told I'm very patient - yes this is true.
And on persistence, yeah - I have much more than a clue.

The fire in my belly is still hot for the chase.
But what am I to run for?
What is my fate?

Do I want to marry?
At times, I don't really know.
But is that just because I can't see past
the very short tip of my nose???

What is my goal?
What is my role?
Right now, I just want to go underground like a mole!

A mom, a daughter, a daughter of God -
yes these are roles,
But is that all for my life?
Who is the real me?
And why does this question bring me such strife?

Please don't think me ungratejul,
Please don't think me untrue,
I'm sure what's talking right now
is my varying shades of blue.

Where does one go to find these things out?
There must be a place -
I can't walk around all my life sporting
a pout on my face!

Again my chest hurts -
constricting, sqeezing and tight
It makes me want to stand up and fight!

But fight against what?
For what do I fight?
My place in this world!
Out from under this blight!

I'm not just a mother!
I'm not just a daughter!
I'm the child of a KING - the HOLIEST of all fathers!
He has plans for me, I know He does
For I am not just a stick in the mud!!!

So you ask what I'll do? Who I'll become?
I will sit patiently on my Father's lap
Listening to His wise, loving voice from above.

I will wait on His timing -
I will live for His cause.
And while I'm here waiting,
I'll keep working without pause.

Being the mother, the daughter
He wants me to be.
Living my life to serve Him only -
and always listening for His plea.

Okay, so maybe it didn't ring true for you...or maybe it did???  I'm sure I'm not the only one in the whole wide world that feels like this...am I????

So I did finish with 99% of the paperwork.  Still have to fill in a few details online tomorrow am before my appointment.  Please pray, that if it is His Will, that RoseFlower will be approved quickly for disability.  And that I could find some way to have an income since I am no longer able to work.  Thank you so much for your prayers.

I will share that recipe I made last night with you, I haven't forgotten.  I'm just toast now!  Please know that I am praying for you, even though I don't know you!!  Because God does, and He knows just exactly what you need in your life!

Hugs........MamaRose--that's a good way to sign, huh??

Eyes Blurred..Leaning on Jesus

Filling out SS Disability paperwork online for my Precious Daughter, RoseFlower.  So brain numbing to spend so much time in front of the computer.  Let me rephrase that--time in front of the computer filling out such deeply personal family history.  I'm trying really hard to write it as just a journalist would.  It's really not working very well.
Oh, please Father, help me to get through this.  If it is Your will, please let this be approved.  I know You have a wonderful plan for our lives...please forgive me in my fleshly physical and emotional exhaustion for.. my weaknesses.. it is not that I don't believe that You do have a plan for us, I know You do....it just seems to be going on for so long..the hardships, Father.  Getting close to 19 years, Father.  Please don't see me as ungrateful for the time of living You have given me....and all the wonderful beautiful blessings that You have poured over my head.  I'm ashamed to even feel discouraged.  Please forgive me, Saviour!  Give me strength... please help my precious RoseFlower in her most recent setback.  Heal her please as You see fit, Heavenly Physician.
Your Loving Daughter......

thank you, Lord.... as soon as I post this entry, I look to the left and see the verse of the day-here it is in case you are reading this at a later date-

"As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother's womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.”
(Ecclesiastes 11:5)

God always sends us little emails just when we need them, doesn't He??  Whether they be a sweet little birdy, a flower you haven't seen before, a stranger's smile or kind word that somehow just seems to fit in perfectly,  or a Bible verse that hits you in your face on your very own blog!  hee hee hee!  I love you so much Lord Jesus!!!  You are my Hero!

Off to cook dinner and sing some praise music...will get back to paperwork later.  I'll share my recipe after paperwork is done.  Tonight we are having Cousin P's Spaghetti!  And believe you me....Cousin P..he, yes HE, is a wonderful chef!!!

Love and hugs......

Happy Friday and a TEST....

Yes, it is Friday!  This is a good thing!  A very good thing, Martha! (Stewart, that is)  Do you ever feel like you could sleep about 3 months straight??  I feel like that right now.  So many things on my mind, you know??

Okay, please stand by for a test from your new blogger who is learning how to upload pics to her blog.  Remember this is only a test.....

Please remember this was only a test.  If this had been a real downloading of a picture, your new learning how to do things blogger would have been able to do it much quicker and using the photobucket account that she set up especially for this test.  But it is okay.....the very unusual snow in Texas picture is posted in the blog!

Now I definitely need a nap.

Sounds of Silence and a Recipe

So yes, you have been hearing only the "Sounds of Silence" from this end of the world.  Life got crazy there for a while, as it tends to do at times.  I didn't forget you, and I have been praying for you..even though we have never met...and if you only glance at the title of my blog one day...you get prayed for!  So there!  I am trying to figure out how to fix my comments so you can actually leave me a comment (that would be nice, wouldn't it??).  But please do email me if you need a special prayer request, wanna say hello, have an idea...or whatever.  That would be wonderful!

Okay, going to give you a very easy, quick and delish meal to make today for your family.  I love to cook.  And I love to make up new recipes.  Most of them turn out pretty good!  I will share from time to time on here.  And I would love to hear recipes from y'all out there, as well!!  Most all of my recipes are quick, cheap, and relatively simple.  Some are healthier than others, but they do get dinner taken care of....and my family likes them.  First one...

Beef Pot Pie

  • 1 package of WalMart brand package of two (2) pie crusts - in the refrigerator section next to the canned biscuits - they come rolled up in a box, very inexpensive, but they taste just like the ones my mama makes from scratch!  ;)
  • 2 (I believe they are like 15 1/2 oz) cans of Dinty Moore beef stew
  • 1 (regular sized, you know the size of a soup can) can of peas--if your family hates peas, then by all means--please just don't add this!  We like peas in our family..and it gives the dish more color and extra little pops when you bite into the peas plus more flavor and I'm sure some added vitamins in there somewhere, right??)
  • Pam spray-I use the butter flavor, you could use whatever flavor you like or have, you could even try skipping this if you have a non-stick pan
Okay, first turn your oven on to about 425-450 degrees Fahrenheit.  We have these old glass Pyrex baking dishes.  I use the circular clear one.  I believe it is about 2 1/2 - 3 quarts maybe??  I have looked all over it trying to find the size.  I'm sure you could improvise with another shape, just as long as it is deep enough to hold all of the beef stew, peas.

Spray the baking dish with your Pam or non-stick (ours is WalMart brand--don't you just love how they have lowered their prices so much since the recession??  Their store brands are very good we have found on just about everything!)  okay..sorry for the bunny trail..back on track now...spray the Pam spray on the bottom and sides of the dish liberally.

Take the first pie crust out of the wrapper and just lay it in the baking dish.  Now in our dish it comes maybe about 4/5 ths up the side, not completely to the top of the dish.  Don't worry, you can come bake down with the top crust at the end and fix that.

Pour in your first can of beef stew.  Then drain the peas (if you are using them) pour those in--sometimes I stir just a bit, if I have time, but that is if I'm really lucky!  Next goes in your second (final) can of beef stew.

Now, take out your second pie crust from the little plastic wrapper.  Unroll it and just lay it on top.  This is where you can kind of push it down and squeeze the edges together to seal the sides.  Now just poke some holes in the top with a fork for the steam to come out and you are ready to throw it in the oven!  Whew!   Hard work, huh??  I know it!

I put aluminum foil under it just in case it boils over (mine never has-but you may want to for the first couple of times until you get familiar with your baking dish).  And I just make a little tent out of foil--nothing fancy, just a bit crumpled on top so it isn't squishing down the top crust--- so the top crust won't get too brown.

In our oven, I check it at about 40-45 minutes.  Depending if that was the first thing that we have cooked that day, I may be able to take off the foil and let the crust brown for about 10-15 more minutes.  Sometimes the first bit takes a bit longer.  Everything is already cooked, so you really don't have to worry about any internal temperature that you have to reach or anything like that.

We are a cheese family at my house.  I serve cubed mild cheddar cheese with it and we put the cheese cubes in the bowl when we scoop some in while it is still hot and it gets all melted and gooey.  Shredded also works when you don't have any cubed.  It is also great without cheese if you happen to be out!

A salad with this (maybe green leaf, some cucumber slices, tomatoes-if they are a good price that week)...and you have a hearty meal for 4 hungry people.

I have no idea about calorie information, fat grams, or any of that sort of thing.  I believe there might be somewhere on the internet where you can go and enter recipe ingredients to get that info.  Not sure of the website, though.

Enjoy!!  And please email me if you decide to try this with your family!!  I would love to hear if you liked it, or what changes you made!  I have also used crescent rolls (2 cans) instead of pie crust, but my family liked the pie crust hands down 20 times better..so we don't do the crescent rolls anymore.

Hugs to all....you are in my prayers...
remember that Jesus loves you and has forgiven you for everything...don't let the devil try and tell you otherwise!

We've been having a rough go in our home school lately.  My daughter has some more healing to do (emotionally).  That is the blessing of home school for us--we can go at just the right pace for my sweet little RoseFlower!  And with her being home with us..we are right there when she needs us to talk, hug, listen...whatever.  God is so GOOD!

When life gets overwhelming sometimes (and believe me...it definitely does!!)...I have to keep reminding myself that we are in the palm of His hands, He is keeping us safe, protecting us from the evil, just as He has all along.  Just take it moment by moment sometimes.  It doesn't matter if the legal system is broken.  Because God will NEVER leave you or forsake you!  And He will never let you down!!  The Mighty Comforter, Healer, Protector, Defender, Physician, Everything!  We just have to GIVE it all to Him...completely...completely...completely.  And that means NOT taking it back on ourselves as a burden after we have given it to Him to carry for us.  I'm really good at that...taking it back!  Are you??  I've been working on letting God keep it....asking His help on it, too.

May God Bless you and your family with whatever your needs are right now....He knows them.

I will write sooner.  We have been creating alot of art lately.  It is so healing.  I will post some pics as soon as my RoseFlower shows me how to use the camera!

Much love and many hugs.....

Giant

Hello!  If you haven't seen the movie, "Giant", with Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson, James Dean and many other wonderful actors...you really are missing a treat!  It is on tv right now.  One of my favorites!  And it is about Texas!  Can't beat that with a stick!  It is a very long movie (around 4 hours), but oh so good!  And very, very worth it!!

By the time you are into the movie 30 minutes, you are hooked.  All the characters feel like family!  This is a multi-generational movie that just gets better every time you see it!

Oh, and it is in color, even though this movie poster I have on the left doesn't look like it.  Definitely gives you the feel of a hot hot hot day in Texas!!  Whew!  Better have some iced tea on hand when you watch it!

Take care!  Hugs......

Jesus in Every Book

Hello, I'm so excited about this. First I must say that this list is from http://www.ignitethefire.com/fuel.html , which is a fabulous website regarding homeschooling and teaching your child and "igniting that spark" in your child for her (or him) to love to learn, to want to learn more about everything in the world... for the love to come from within the child, not to beat the child over the head with books so to say...but for the child to crave learning about the world about her (or him), to be curious and fascinated with everything.

This portion that I am going to share with you is so exciting. It is talking about finding Jesus in every book of the Bible. Talking about making a Bible notebook... I must confess that just talking about making notebooks makes my heart beat faster... The Bible notebook that I am making right now is a combination of a couple of ideas I have read about.

First, I am working on having a divider with each book of the Bible listed on it. So whenever I am in church and hear something special in a sermon from a particular book in the Bible, I take notes in church, then come home and put the notes in that section. Or if I am just studying on my own, I can write the notes in that section.

Next, I have ABC dividers. Now when I am doing my daily Bible readings, whenever I come across a verse that talks about God, or Jesus, or the Holy Spirit...a particular characteristic or action ... say for instance in Psalm 107:13, "Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress." Okay...so from that we see that the Lord delivers, right?? So I would go to my D tabbie and then copy Psalm 107:13, write out that verse. (D for delivers)

Okay, now here is this really cool part. Jesus is mentioned in every book of the Bible. He was with God when they created Earth and man....the three and one...trilogy--Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Okay..... so here is a list (from the website mentioned above) that is so very wonderful--- it shows Jesus' relationship in every book of the Bible.

Wanted to share this...had to share this. I did add in Titus, as this was not in the list, and I filled in 2 Thess as it was blank. Just so you know.

I have written these down in my Bible at the beginning of each book. Except I have personalized them a bit. Like for Leviticus, instead of, "He is your sanctification".. I have written, "He is my sanctification".

May God Bless you and keep you, may God make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you!

I'm praying for you!  Praying that you feel the Lord's peace surrounding you, upholding you and giving you strength.  It is so hard to get caught up in all of the earthly negativity that is around us everyday, isn't it??  Well for me it is sometimes.  I am too much of a sponge!  Ha ha...soaking up all the sadness around me, the earthquakes, people hurting financially, physically, emotionally, spiritually, people searching...not knowing that Jesus is the only one that can fill that empty place inside of them.  I have to stand back...pray.... take a deep breath...  remember who I belong to... what my role here is (to love on people and to share God's love).. and to remember that we are all just passing through here!  We are just aliens here on earth!!  (I'm trying to find that verse--I am thinking maybe in Peter 1 or 2, but my eyes are really tired and blurry right now--I will have to get back with you on that verse--the one about us just passing thru here on earth.)

Ok....I am sending love and prayers and hugs to you all....  Take care...

I Make War!

Hello Again!  Yes, so soon!  I know!!  I wanted to post that You Tube fantastic video that my daughter's Youth Pastor showed them a couple of weeks ago.  I had it at the bottom of my blog, but then I switched everything around.  So here it is again!!  Enjoy!!
